Idag börjar det. Vi ska åka till Skottland! Vi gick upp strax efter kl 05.00 för att hinna göra oss i ordning innan vi satte oss i bilen för att åka ner till Göteborg och färjan. Under resan får Patrik chansen att leka med Lennarths nyinköpta datorleksaker. En GPS-mottagare för programmet AutoRoute, så man kan använda datorn som GPS. Det fungerade sådär, den tappar kontakten med satteliterna. För att sedan inte datorns batteri ska ta slut direkt så har Lennarth även köpt en omvandlare för att ladda batteriet via cigarettuttaget. Vid 10-tiden åker vi på färjan. Direkt snurrade vi runt för att hitta till vår hytt som var lite jobbig att hitta. När hytten var hittad åt vi en tidig lunch och sedan drog vill Tax-free shoppen. Där stötte Patrik på några skottar framför Whisky-hyllan och började diskutera. Dom tyckte Whiskyn var dyr på tax-freen, vilket efter lite räkning visade sig att dom inte hade helt rätt, de räknade svenska kronor till £1 = 10sek. När vi varit i tax-freen tillräckligt många gånger så satte vi oss i pubben. Där tog Lennarth och Terese en Cola, Patrik tog en Guinness och Gun testade en San Fransisco och en Irish Coffee. Lennarth sjöng med i trubaduren alla sånger. När vi tröttnade på gammal musik så gick vi ner i hytten och knöt oss.
Semester
För den som är lite nyfiken på min framtida skottlandsresa kan följa förberedelsen och själva resan på vår Skottlandsblogg. De flesta förberedelserna är redan gjorda och resan blir snart av. För egen del blir det mest Whiskydestillerier som jag vill besöka, sedan vill Tea se slott och mor & far vill titta på naturen och fina trädgårdar.
July 17 – Leaving Sweden
It starts today. We are going to Scotland! We got up just after 5 o’clock so we would have time to get ready before getting in the car to travel to Gothenburg and the boat. During the journey Patrik got the chance to play with Lennarth’s newly purchased computer toy. A GPS-receiver for the AutoRoute programme, it lets one use the computer as a GPS. It worked so and so as it lost contact with the satellite. To make sure the computers battery could be recharged Lennarth had bought a transformer so the battery could be charged through the cigarette lighter contact. At 10o’clock we drove on the boat, then we wandered around looking for our cabin which was a little difficult to find. When we found our cabin we went and took an early lunch and then it was down to the Tax-free shop. Patrik met a few Scots in front of the Whisky section and started up a conversation. They thought the Whisky was expensive in the tax-free shop, which after a little calculation showed that they weren’t completely right, they calculated Swedish crowns to £1 = 10 Sek. When we had been in the tax-free enough times we went to the pub. Lennarth and Terese took a cola, Patrik took a Guinness and Gun tried a San Fransisco and an Irish coffee. Lennart sang along with the singsong. When we got tired of listening to the old music we went down to our cabins and retired for the night.
